Review of The Invention of Lying (2009) by Lee B — 07 Feb 2011
Wow, this movie really caught me off guard. I had heard about Ghost Town being watered down and not a Gervaise type of comedy movie, this one was so much a Gervaise type of comedy that it was great. The uncomfortable nature of telling people exactly what is happening created so many really funny scenarios. And the religious jokes, and the advertising jokes and movie jokes. It's really smart. This might be the smartest dumb comedy I've seen.
I don't know what to say. I found this movie hilarious. I can't even describe why except that it has so much uncomfortable type humor that comes off as hilarious with great cameos. This is a great comedy. I've become dumb trying to describe it.
