Review of The Invention of Lying (2009) by Zach M — 18 Jul 2011
The potential of the idea that no one knows how to lie is great. Unfortunately the movie wasn't able to use the whole potential of this thought, so that the viewer stays partly unsatisfied.
Mostly this is due to the heavy romantic focus. There were some obvious questions arising from the basis of "one man knows how to lie whilst the others don't" which weren't addressed at all in the movie. That was a bit disappointing.
It's also absolutely obvious that the first 30min are the strongest and the movie is getting weaker by progressing to the end.
However, the movie was enjoyable. It wasn't truly captivating, but also not really annoying. So. Three stars.
