Review of The Invention of Lying (2009) by Rova A — 31 Jul 2011
Wasn't so keen on watching this - the "funny" bits in the trailer I didn't find so funny, but I like Ricky Gervais, so....
It's actually quite a sweet film with poignant messages about hope, optimism, friendship, relationships... and religion. I got really irritated by the whole "must tell the truth" thing, because for some reason they are also unable to hold anything back - it's almost like they must tell the truth AND speak every thought in their head - which is stupid. Worth watching, but it's unavailable to rent anywhere, you have to buy it - so don't bother, and wait till it's on TV.
