Review of The Invention of Lying (2009) by Bailey H — 14 Sep 2012
It's held back by the use of cliche syrupy romance, but the premise is brilliant, the cameos are perfect, and the laughs are genuine. Atheist comedies are a rare gem, and that makes the film a very enjoyable satire for a specific group of people.
Too bad Gervais' attempts to inject it with conventionalism in order to appeal to the masses makes it seem weaker and less appealing altogether.
