Review of The Invention of Lying (2009) by Chris W — 30 Apr 2013
The first act is so funny it makes the remaining hour seem pale in comparison; although it is adequate. Visually, it's horrible to look at, the ambience eventually feels superficial, I was longing for some contrast or technical wizardry to escape the monotony.
The concept is unique and Gervais is brave to take it down this particular route, although it becomes quite predictable towards the end.
