Review of The Invasion (2007) by Jeffrey M — 03 Mar 2012
Given the film's tumultuous production history, it's no surprise that the final product is a mess. The script is undeniably terrible, with a sloppy exposition, stilted dialogue, no real character development, and tired cliches done in tired cliche ways. The direction is energetic, but I wasn't a fan of the erratic editing style. There are a number of good scenes in the film, it actually gets considerably better in the latter act. But overall what it does well is not nearly enough to outweigh the lack of actual groundwork.
2/5 Stars.
