Review of The Invasion (2007) by Jingbo W — 03 Jul 2012
Out of the 4 or 5 versions of this movie that have been made, I have only seen the original and this one. Although I enjoyed the original, I must admit that I prefer this one. The idea of microscopic alien organisms reconstructing our DNA is a better idea than switching out our bodies with duplicates that were grown from pea-pods.
The ending to this one was also much more satisfying than the random dropoff that was the ending of the original. However, the film does lack originality, being a remake for the third+ time. The style can also be seen as being similar to that of zombie films.
Packed with a high amount of tension and questions of humanity, I found 'The Invasion' to be quite an enjoyable film.
