Yes, the story is a commonly used "handicap man learns to live again" archetype, but it is so well made and acted, you can't help but love it. Even for those who wince at the thought of watching a French film, I can't imagine this wouldn't be a welcome watch.
See it before the American remake (looks like Colin Firth might play the lead). Based on a true story....
