Review of The Intouchables (2011) by Sandy K — 08 May 2013
Based on a true story, this is an absolutely charming French film about an ex-con from the projects, Driss, entering the life of Phillipe, a wealthy tetraplegic (he can only move his head). Driss turns the household upside down, providing Phillipe with exactly the kind of energy (and lack of sympathy) he needed.
The evolution of their friendship and what they come to mean to each other is both touching and entertaining, with more than a few laugh-out-loud moments (I think my favorite was Driss' introduction to the opera.
) And who can watch this and not want to jump up and dance to Earth, Wind & Fire?
