Review of The Intouchables (2011) by Daniel K — 30 Jun 2013
3: A prime example of one of those French films that has caused so much ruckus of late as it relates to the fledging Trans-Atlantic Partnership trade talks. I would certainly not want films like this to stop being made.
It is a touching and moving film about not giving up and the common humanity that can be found across economic, racial, cultural, etc backgrounds. As I was watching the film I couldn't help but consider gini coefficients and the class differences that will forever endure as somewhat artificial barriers between humans.
It didn't knock it out of the park, but it is a more than worthwhile little picture about a rather unlikely friendship.
