Review of The Intouchables (2011) by Matt W — 15 Oct 2013
I really enjoyed this. Although it did get a little too sweet for me. But I still found it a heartwarming, and funny, movie.
Everyone has seen this film before, but it is the way that it is acted and put together that makes it different. Everything feels real and genuine, with the performances at first down played, and as the relationship starts to bloom, the quirks of the characters start to appear more and more. And that is the charm. It gets funnier as the characters get to know each other more, as they start to play off each other.
It is simple and effective.
The disability is not the main point of the story, but is interesting anyway, to see the frustration, and how a carer can make such a difference.
There are a few moments that I found were a little too manipulative that could have been rid of, but as a whole I was charmed by it, and was smiling at the end.
It's worth the watch.
