Review of The Intouchables (2011) by Marnie Z — 18 Jul 2018
Love comes in many forms, and the beauty of the fraternal love between two men is something we see so rarely that we have to appreciate it every time it's portrayed well. It's not a stretch to say that the way men interact with each other is fraught with the dangers of false bravado and immature behavior. When two men are able to get through that nonsense and understand the vulnerabilities that they share, the joy of being in each other's company is unlike any other.
Based on a true story, the friendship between Philippe and Driss exists because of their insensitivity. It is paradoxical. It's also beautiful.
