Review of The Interrupters (2011) by Mike H — 08 Jun 2012
Maybe not quite at "Hoop Dreams" level, but much more intense. James somehow knows how to act and film the inner-city. The honesty and candor of the subjects is incredible and I still wonder how he gets everything on film that he does.
A real look into inner-city violence in Chicago where you'll meet broken individuals who still relish violence, those who've turned from it, those seeking forgiveness, and those trying to prevent it before it starts.
A heavy film, but one worth watching.
