This film was brought to you by Google. In all honesty, I wouldn't have been shocked to see something along those lines show up at the end of this film. I understand this is what the entire premise is based around, but when one of the main characters is doing a job search, and the word "Google" can be seen in SIX very distinct locations on the screen, it starts to raise plenty of red flags.

One of those red flags being The Internship. The film follows two recently laid off friends who take an internship at Google in the hopes of bettering themselves. When I mentioned this film should've been a red flag, that is directed solely at the nerve of the entire film.

This is product placement squared. I get it, Google is a great place to work. In fact, Vince Vaughn's character basically says that around the beginning of the film. But what does the film continue to do? Remind us that Google is a great place to work at.

Free food, awesome team building games, fun games to pass the time, and pretty much anything in between. It's sad when the funniest parts of the film can be summed up in three cameos, not clocking in at more than ten minutes total.

Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn are hilarious guys, but what they're given with is a been there, done that screenplay that is overstuffed and it overstays it's welcome. Everyone else does well enough, but they aren't given much of anything to do.

And then there's the rating. This film honestly feels like it was rated R at some point in time, then cut up in the hopes of reaching a wider audience base. That was a horrible idea. Overall, the jokes are few and far between, and not even Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, mixed in with some well placed cameos, can save this film from being one big Google advertisement.
