Review of The International (2009) by Kairy F — 10 Nov 2009
I won't lie... I'm a pretty smart guy but I just didn't "get" this movie. Aside from Clive Owen awesomely playing the role he seems to play in every movie (don't get me wrong, I like the guy) and the fact that Naomi Watts seemed unable to act at all here, I couldn't follow what was happening.
I felt like I walked into the middle of a much larger story. It could be I'm not really familiar with international banking (though I do love espionage stories) but I was at a lost to why the villains were.
.. well... the villains. Aside from killing people to keep their secrets and being involved in international arms-dealing, that is. I would have only given it 2 stars, but the gunfight in the Guggenheim was perhaps one of the most realistic shoot-outs I've ever seen hit film.
Perhaps I should give this movie a second run through at some point...
