Review of The International (2009) by Byford T — 04 Jan 2010
It did okay as a thriller but fail miserably as a drama. On the promotional tagline it says "They control your money. They control your government. They control your life. And everybody pays." I don't see how this message pays out except when the roller credits started and flashes of newspaper started appearing in the background. I wonder why was it made the opening/closing movie of the HK International Film Festival 2009.
The shootout scene inside the Guggenheim was quite spectacular, and obviously they put a lot of money in creating the set. And I like music in the movie, kind of New Age and give the movie a bit of a edgy feeling.
International Banks, they control your government, the seek for debt, they create debt. I believe at least half of it is true. Seems that anything with the word "international" on it would turn out to be not so great.
