Review of The International (2009) by Melanie J — 12 Jan 2011
This film looks fantastic on Blu-Ray, but that's where it stops. We see side characters speak with thick accents and use clever metaphors to describe a global conspiracy that isn't that interesting to begin with. We see them mysteriously die because they evidently knew too much, but it would have been nice to hear them explain it to the rest of us as part of their last utterance.
Clive Owen and Naomi Watts play the international cops chasing all these guys. They get shot at. They get run down by guys driving dark luxury sedans. In the end, it's kind of like the X-Files except without any science fiction elements to make it plausibly interesting.
