It feels more like a chick flick than I would've guessed and can be cheesy at times. But who doesn't love a bit of cheesiness every once in a while? The movie kind of acknowledges that it's cheesy and has very funny, deliberate over the top moments.
There are so many lifelike details that contribute nothing to the plot or overt characterization, but nevertheless add a sense of reality and beauty. The chemistry between De Niro and Hathaway is touching and refreshing.
One of the cutest, simplest, and most enjoyable movies I've ever seen!
