Review of The Inspector General (1949) by Kevin M. W — 13 Jun 2018
In a case of mistaken identity, a no-account gypsy is thought to be a high ranking official by crooked local government types. Hilarity would ensue but this film totally banks on the appeal of Danny Kaye's silly antics.
Like some Jim Carrey offerings it simply gets to be too much and further not cute but rather annoying. I began to root for the villains to win. Only watch if you are entertaining adolescents.
