Review of The Insider (1999) by Carlos R — 14 Feb 2010
Very well directed, written and superbly acted, however when the storyline wasn't focused in some moments in Crowe's character the film lost interest and it was kinda confusing and unnecessarily long.
I enjoyed very much the first 90 minutes when the story was setting up and the film worked as a psychological thriller but then it was a bit confusing and with an ending like that, at least 30 minutes less would have been much better.
This isn't in my opinion Michael Mann's best film as many people say; having watched 5 of his films, I can say that at least Heat is a superior film.
