Review of The Insider (1999) by Alvin Y — 01 Jul 2010
Watching this film is not easy because there are a lot of things to fully understand and get in order to really enjoy this film. I'm not going to talk about the whole film but I'm going to talk about the good and bad things of the film.
Good:
This is a well-acted drama that is also a very intense and mostly keeps you intrigue. Crowe was nominated for best actor for his performance, well Pacino should have been nominated as well. Also, a nominated for best picture and director. The 2 1/2 hr length tells us about this issues that deals with Wigand (Crowe) and Bergman (Pacino). The true story part in here is very important because if this was a fiction work, then Michael Mann would have been a decent director.
Bad:
Well, I don't know it's very hard to tell. The bad things in here is that it is so slow even until the end. But still a very intriguing film.
