Review of The Innocents (2016) by Shubhra R — 02 Jul 2017
When a war movie is told from a female perspective, the good (guys) and bad (guys) become obscure. The narrative instead becomes so much more nuanced, and so much more human. To find a place in the sun, just outside the shadows of dark clouds, and to find joy in it regardless of its impermanence.
And the fine revelation of breaking barriers. Survival.
