Review of The Informant! (2009) by Andrew T — 05 Oct 2011
From a technical side, The Informant! is an excellent film-- great acting, direction, the costuming, writing, and filmography really set the film in the early 90s. Beyond those things, though, I had difficultly getting into the film-- the plot wasn't very compelling and as a comedy, I felt it failed.
It wasn't funny, it's as simple as that. I also wish they would have pinned down the effects of Whitacre's bipolar disorder and compulsive lying-- these things really only came up near the end of the film, and thus it was hard to really see how they had an effect earlier.
