Review of The Infiltrator (2016) by Chris U — 20 Jul 2016
The Inflitrator is somewhat of the same old government informant story with a slight twist. Bryan Cranston is once again absolutely phenomenal and really the main reason to watch the movie. The other characters are there but you never really fully care about them.
Anytime you begin to like one of the "bad guys" you stop caring because you know they are either going to be arrested or killed at the end and that's basically exactly what happens. There are great moments of tension and if the story is even close to true as it claims, the real life Mazur is definitely lucky to be alive.
Overall the movie isn't bad nor good, it lies somewhere in between which I think is fine with it, as I never saw it as a truly gritty action movie, nor an award contender.
