Review of The Infiltrator (2016) by Patrick D — 24 Jul 2016
The cast is fantastic in this movie and the story of a man going undercover into Pablo Escobar's criminal empire is interesting. The movie is very good at showing Bryan Cranston's character working his way from the bottom of up to the top in this criminal organization.
With help along the way from John Leguizamo and Diane Kruger characters, they get close to Benjamin Bratt and a handful of other high level criminals with ties to Escobar. There are moments of tension through out, with almost being caught or killed.
They get close to Bratt's Character and family, so in the ending they almost feel bad for having lied and captured them. That is where the story loses momentum. with the ending, just seemingly abruptly happening and then fade to black with info on all the real life people.
It just misses the mark to be a really great movie, but is still a good spy thriller movie with Fantastic performances all around.
