Review of The Infiltrator (2016) by Neil P — 05 Jan 2017
Maybe "Narcos" has spoiled me but this felt more like a "tv version" than the netflix show - which says a lot about the current balance between TV and film. Cranston and Leguiziamo are both excellent and deserve better.
The plot is interesting but there are far too many incidents that don't make much sense eg him going home to see his family every day and why a high level narco would be getting into gunfights at docks.
Maybe it really happened but the film didn't inspire me to check. Much like "sicario" these silly elements betray the film for what it really is - a B movie but parodoxically with A list acotrs.
