Review of The Infidel (2010) by Debbie P — 17 Jan 2011
Let me start by saying that I really wanted to like this film. I liked Omid Djalili and Archie Panjabi. This movie is truly an anti-Semitic film dressed up as a comedy. In the film, the one Jewish friend in it refers to Israeli people as "not really Jewish".
The Rabbi in the film will not let a son that was adopted see his dying father. The one Muslim fanatic turns out to be a fake (would it have been ok if he was just a fanatic?). And most importantly the lead character burns a yarmulke.
If this was to happen to any other cultural/religious object, there would have been an uproar (ex. Seinfeld with Kramer burning Puerto Rico's flag).
