Review of The Incredibles (2004) by Dann M — 19 Dec 2013
Pixar's superhero satire The Incredibles is a clever and entertaining film that pulls inspiration from such groundbreaking comics as The Watchmen, Fantastic Four, and Superman. After being forced into a witness protection program for superheroes Mr.
Incredible struggles to resist his urge to fight crime, but he gets the chance to be useful once again when he's approached by a mysterious corporation seeking help testing defense technology. The animation is fairly well-done, and is especially vivid and colorful.
Additionally, the casting is quite good, featuring Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Samuel L. Jackson, and Jason Lee. However, the plot has some issues and lacks a consistent tone. The Incredibles is fun and exciting, but it lacks that extra something that Pixar films usually have.
