Review of The Incredibles (2004) by Samuli H — 07 Aug 2015
The movie reaches the peak of Pixar's work yet and also the peak of superhero movies. Every single superpower is also portrayed as a character traits in the correspondent members of the family. This makes the film extremely relatable and the villain is menacing as ever, though maybe slightly cliched.
His masterplan makes up for it though, really giving a great example why the saying 'never meet your heroes' exists. And if all that isn't enough to make it an animated masterpiece, it's portrayal of a midlife crisis surely will.
And it's one we've not seen portrayed this convincincly apart from American beauty.
