Review of The Incredibles (2004) by Alec B — 03 Dec 2018
This is a lighthearted, feel-good movie about a super family. This movie shows a lot of underlying themes in terms of sociology and the family. The filmmakers made this a "normal" family, the father was the breadwinner and the mother was a stay at home mom who constantly did house work.
However, there was a turning point in the movie, as the husband had to rely on the wife to be saved. The filmmakers defied these gender "norms" and broke family stereotypes. They become a tight-knit family at the end of the movie, and their family is more than just the five of them, but some of the other hero's become apart of this family as well.
