Review of The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957) by Mike H — 02 Jan 2008
Part sci-fi, part fantasy, part horror, this film offers a little imagination and a lot of '50s charm. It plays essentially like a long episode of the Twilight Zone, and it ends strong instead of with a resolving and undoing of everything, like waking up from a dream.
There is a moral to our protagonist's story. Much of the trick photography looks decent enough that the movie is still watchable today, even if the effects are completely outdated.
