Review of The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957) by Tristan D — 26 Jul 2009
Grant Williams carries a marvelously poetic screenplay by Richard Matheson with a top rate performance in what is probably Jack Arnold's most honest science fiction picture. The effects work is amazing for the era and the story treats the idea of a man reducing in size so seriously that it almost becomes painful to watch.
The ending is at once uplifting and heart breaking. First rate!
