Review of The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957) by Glen O — 04 Jan 2012
This is a very thoughtful 50s sci-fi B movie that ponders the significance of humanity in God's vast universe. More like the Incredibly Philosophical Shrinking Man in its final scene. Plus it has a 'giant' spider.
I never saw this film growing up but if I had it would have become one of my favourites of the genre. It's like a story from a "Weird Science" comic book transferred to the screen. The special effects are surprisingly successful even if the blue screen technology is a little clunky.
