Review of The Incredible Mr. Limpet (1964) by Sv G — 01 Apr 2008
40 yrs before Nemo or Shark Tale there was The Incredible Mr. Limpet. This was really quite a piece of work for it's time. A mixture of live action and animation along with some very more stage lit type theatrical shots.
All of this blends brilliantly and that coupled with the both sweet and entertaining performance by Don Knotts who sings rather dearly several tunes in the movie makes for a very good watch nearly 45 years after it was made.
Though they didn't have the animation abilities back then as they do now, the story itself is so well written and quite clever and superior over many animated scripts written today.
