Review of The Incredible Hulk (2008) by Benb. — 27 Jun 2008
This film covers the Hulk backstory pretty well. He is the tragic antihero of the Marvelverse as we hoped. My problem with the film is that the CGI really disappoints, especially in scenes combined with live action.
I don't suppose it matters, but in a movie that somehow is driven by lots and lots of Hulk scenes, they could have done better. Liv Tyler is sort of flaccid as Betty Ross, but so is the character.
Say what you will about her being the Beauty to Hulk's Beast, her character is still a stock type, who gets to mostly be the handwringing woman abandoned by the big green guy.
