Review of The Incredible Hulk (2008) by Valmeekyr. — 25 Jun 2008
The low rating is based on comparing this movie to Hulk 2003 which was truly about the Hulk, a character born of an accident with gamma radiation which unleashes suppressed mental trauma (quite violently).
Leterrier's Hulk is a tribute to the 1977 series (i.e. Banner purposely exposes himself to gamma radiation to improve his physiology). Ang Lee's Hulk was a gigantic, disproportionate and child-like monster.
Leterrier's Hulk looked a muscular man and moved like a character in Streetfighter. I'm sure the video game moves (and the weak-ass thunderclap) fascinated some people but I wanted to see the more of the Hulk's psyche exposed including a better symbiosis with Banner and waaaay more destruction when fighting a powerhouse like the Abomination.
