Review of The Incredible Hulk (2008) by Adam F — 16 May 2014

The Hulk does a good job at adapting the difficult superhero, but lacks a solid story. This movie is quite entertaining, but it doesn't come without its flaws. First off, the opening scene is a montage of how Bruce Banner became the Hulk, which flows nicely, giving us all we need to know about the character and saving time for the rest of the film.

The first battle the Hulk encounters against some factory workers is well done, not showing us the beast but building great suspense. Unfortunately, the movie is a bit forgettable come the second half.

The pacing in the middle is a bit off. Though the actors are all good, most of them are miscast in their roles. The villain is shoe horned in the end, providing nothing to remember him by. The climax is fun, but not nearly as compelling as the rest of the film.

The story is also very cliché. It's nothing you haven't seen before, but is mildly entertaining. The Incredible Hulk gets 3/5 stars (B-).
