Review of The Incredible Hulk (2008) by John D — 15 Mar 2015
Obviously, the weakest Marvel film in Phase 1 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The story is trying to be darker, but nothing interests me on this. I mean, how could you not love the Incredible Hulk if we talk about the comics.
The storytelling could have a lot of potential by means of good execution, and put at least a little humor In it. It is deadly serious when it's not. All I see is a struggling Bruce Banner (Norton) who is trying to avoid himself turning into a green enormous green monster called the Hulk.
The chemistry between Banner and Betty is ok, but not that memorable if we talk about Marvel couples. The scenes that wakes me up at least is the battle scene between the Hulk vs. the tanks together with the soldiers.
I like the last part, but I thought it could have been better. All I see are a bunch of monster CGI's fighting with each other with no intensity or whatsoever. It really lacks the essence and the substance of a Superhero film.
Yet I think, this is not necessarily a must watch if you're having an MCU marathon. Totally disappointing. It could have been better though. 3/5.
