Review of The Incredible Hulk (2008) by John P — 06 Nov 2013
Two reasons this movie didn't quite convince me: 1) most of this type of thing has already been done so often, for example in the Batman movies and other super-hero movies of the '90s, that it is getting tired.
2) Ed Norton seems frankly miscast in the lead role -- can't dig him as the sensitive guy type. Not after seeing 'Fight Club' and 'The Italian Job'. Kept expecting some wisecracks from him.
It is really a first rate cast that is almost too good for a comic book. Throw in some overdone CGI effects and you have a movie that might be enjoyed by teenagers but doesn't quite grab grown-ups.
But then maybe that's the target audience.
