Review of The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2013) by Andy N — 26 Sep 2013
It had a few chuckles, but ultimately The Incredible Burt Wonderstone just isn't that incredible. Instead of utilizing it's main stars and having them take everything to the extreme as they normally do, we get a watered down version of what they normally do.
With a premise like this, Wonderstone could have been the Anchorman of the magic world, but instead they never dare to get too outrageous which hurts the film ultimately in the end. Jim Carrey's Steve Gray is the best part of the film and it's good to see him back doing comedy.
Unlike other stars of his era, you can see even with a small part like Steve Gray that Carrey hasn't lost a step.
