I can't imagine the unbearable pain of a child abduction. At some point, many parents must simply abandon all hope of ever rescuing their child intact, and settle for retrieving the remains so that they can move on with their lives, however incomplete.

Their lives have become.

This sad indisputable fact remained with me.

As I watched this story unfold often wonder-.

Ing why the remaining family members could not recognize what was blatantly obvious to even the most casual observer, something was wrong.

Did they want to believe?

Or was it something more sinister?

At the age of 13, on June 13, 1994, Nicholas Dollarhide disappeared without a trace from his home in San Antonio Texas. The circum-.

Stances that surround his disappearance are as mysterious as the events that followed.

His presumed discovery in a small village of Southern Spain on October 7, 1997 was met with both joy & suspicion.

What follows is a true documentary so unbelievable bizarre that it's difficult to decipher who is conning who and for what gain. At times chilling, heartbreaking, and even funny. It remains interesting throughout it's entirety. The numerous mistakes that are made on both sides of the pond by law enforcement, bureaucrats, and other public officials, are only acerbated by the Dollarhide family's willingness to go along with a charade that will leave you shaking your head in disbelief.

The Imposter is narrated by the actual participants, which adds to it's credibility,.

And while the film editing may seem a bit sophomoric to some, the story, as well as the real-life characters will remain with you long after you've left the theater.
