Review of The Imposter (2012) by Neil P — 31 Dec 2012
I'd accused this of being far-fetched if it wasn't a documentary. A bizarre tale of how a con-artist fools a family into thinking he's their lost child. No-one believes then except the family and there are some disturbing twists and turns towards the end leaving you with the chilling thought of "what really happened to Nicholas Barclay.
The interviews with the con-man reveal he is a charismatic liar and the interviews with the family members show how completely they were taken in - or at least some of them may have acted that way. Fascinating and far more disturbing than fiction,.
