Review of The Imposter (2012) by Shaun T — 29 Jul 2013
The Imposter is a documentary like none I have ever seen before. The story is incredible and would be hard no to portray in an intriguing way to the audience, as a made for tv documentary or film festival invitee as it was.
I am most surprised that this story is not more publicized and known in house holds. It is thrilling and scary to see a con man trick the US government and federal agencies. They use the narration in such a clever way making the interviews as exciting as possible.
I am usually ticked off by mock reality scenes in documentaries but the way they used the character's voices combined with big screen movie cinematography makes it suspenseful from start to finish.
A must see I recommend for documentary fans but also movie viewers of any kind.
