Review of The Impossible (2012) by Patrick K — 03 Apr 2014
A true story of a family's experience in Thailand during the 2004 tsunami, this film spends minimal time on character development before the wave's deadly strike. In a blink of an eye, a tranquil family vacation becomes an all-out survival situation; a fight for your life, without warning and only with what you have on.
..a tank top, shorts, flip flops. A fe...w times in the film you'll feel that you're no longer watching a tsunami movie but instead, living it. Oscar nominated for Best Actress, Naomi Watts provides a gripping sense of what it was like for those who survived.
Viewers will forever keep a watchful eye on beach waves and take note of higher ground. Raw. Intense. Emotional. Grade: B.
