Review of The Impossible (2012) by K.c. L — 21 Apr 2014
Bellhop: And you, you don't work?
Maria (Naomi Watts): I'm a doctor. I'm not practicing right now. Just taking care of the kids.
Bellhop: I see, you got promoted.
I know this film is supposed to be inspirational and everything but it was also so depressing. I mean to see the devastation and realize how many lives were lost, even the children was simply devastating and to see mother nature's awesome power like that is utterly frightening. On the upside, the movie's events were truly miraculous and it was really uplifting to witness the ultimately beauty of the human spirit even among the victims (well, most of them anyway).
