Review of The Impossible (2012) by Wayne M — 10 Jul 2014
This film is based on a true story of a family's attempt to survive the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami in Thailand. A husband and wife and their three sons are swept away and separated as the tsunami hits.
This film is technically brilliant with all of the horrific drama feeling real and 'big'. But it is let down by a syrupy script full of heavy handed cliches and 'big moments'. I wanted to be moved but I felt let down.
