Review of The Imitation Game (2014) by Hotfromcauldron — 29 Nov 2014
Alan Turing was a remarkable man - the Imitation Game is not. Obviously, a PG movie can do no justice to a sexually repressed, obsessive compulsive math genius- seemingly on the autistic spectrum.
A teenage crush and an irritating investigator bookend Turing's contribution of the computer.
The war images are jarring, the musical score imposing, and the sexual tension non-existent.
Whenever Cumberbatch and Knightly - were on the screen - my mind wandered to Sheldon and Amy of the Big Bang Theory- who do it so much better. Your strongest emotions should not be evoked by the closing credits of a film.
