Review of The Imitation Game (2014) by Mark S — 17 Jul 2015
The Imitation Game invites natural comparisons to A Beautiful Mind as biopics about an eccentric genius. While A Beautiful Mind was the more enjoyable movie, Benedict Cumberbatch brings an intensity to his portrayal of Alan Turing which conveys the angst he felt over his own secrets.
The personal drama of The Imitation Game tends to shortchange the drama of the actual codebreaking, which is a fascinating story in itself.
