Review of The Imitation Game (2014) by Kristin B — 01 May 2016
Great performances, but the writer or director couldnt seem to decide if Turing's homosexuality should be a central point of the plot, nor societies' tolerance for such things in that period. It makes for an abrupt and sad end to a story that was otherwise upbeat (as much as a war movie can be).
While of course tied to the factual events that inspired the film, some foreshadowing to cushion the viewers fall from the sad conclusion of the story would have gone a long way.
