Before there was IBM's Watson, Before there were computers, There was Alan Turing. Turing proved that a machine was capable of performing any conceivable mathematical computation if it were representable as an algorithm. At the National Codes Centre in Bletchley Park, he helped defeat the German Enigma machines, which is estimated to have shortened World War II by as much as two years and possibly saved the lives of as many as 14 million people. Now that we know the potential of artificial intelligence, the question is: once created, can it ever be stopped?
